08/13/2015 - Updating Your Version of Citrix (SSL Error 61)
Recent security upgrades have caused some users to receive errors that prevent logging into Messenger through the regular channel.
If you receive a message including "SSL Error 61" when you click on the MessengerPlus icon (after launching Messenger and inputting your ID/password), or if you have recently been directed to access Messenger using the "Legacy method" because of this error, your version of Citrix should be upgraded to be compatible with Messenger.
We recommend Citrix version 3.4 (sometimes shown as 13.4.0.25) or greater. The download for Version 3.4, the minimum recommended version, is available from our Informational Postings site.
As part of the process to upgrade Citrix, your current version should probably be uninstalled before installing the new version. It would be a good idea to get your IT staff involved in this process.
Follow these steps to find the download for the minimum recommended version of Citrix on the Informational Postings site:
On this page you'll see a download link labeled Minimum Recommended Web Plug-In. Installation instructions are also available on this page.
Even if you do not get this error, you should discuss the possibility of updating your version of Citrix with your IT support.
Please have your IT support call the Messenger Help Line at 713-989-7800 in Houston, or toll-free at 877-689-7800 if you need assistance.
